We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to support and promote a strong safety culture across our manufacturing, transportation, and construction operations. This position plays a key role in helping ensure compliance with safety regulations, reducing workplace risk, and supporting employees and managers in maintaining safe work environments. Position Summary The Safety Coordinator supports company-wide safety initiatives through inspections, training, incident investigations, compliance monitoring, and administrative support. This position works closely with employees, supervisors, and management to help maintain compliance with OSHA, SHARP, DOT, and other applicable safety requirements. This position reports directly to the Corporate Safety Manager and requires regular travel to company facilities and project sites. Key Responsibilities
Conduct safety inspections, audits, and jobsite evaluations to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Facilitate new hire safety orientation and ongoing employee safety training. Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and other safety awareness initiatives. Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses, including root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations. Maintain safety records, training documentation, compliance files, and inspection reports. Support OSHA, SHARP, DOT, DISA, and Avetta compliance efforts. Assist with workers' compensation administration, injury reporting, and return-to-work programs. Monitor employee compliance with company safety policies and procedures. Assist with emergency preparedness planning and safety committee activities. Travel to company facilities, construction sites, and project locations to support field operations. Promote continuous improvement and a positive safety culture throughout the organization. Required
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard business software. OSHA 30-Hour Certification or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe. Preferred
Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in occupational safety, construction safety, manufacturing safety, transportation safety, or a related field. Knowledge of OSHA, SHARP, and DOT regulations. Experience with incident investigations, safety training, and workers' compensation programs. Bilingual English/Spanish skills. Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Approximately 50% travel to company facilities and project locations. Ability to work in manufacturing environments, construction sites, and outdoor conditions. Ability to walk, climb stairs and ladders, navigate uneven terrain, and wear required PPE. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities associated with site inspections.
