Reporting Line Reporting Line: Head of Overseas Energy Storage Business
About Us Zhonghuan New Energy is a Hong Kong-listed (01735.HK) integrated green energy group with businesses spanning high-efficiency PV cell & module manufacturing, solar power station investment & construction, source-grid-load-storage integration, zero-carbon industrial parks, and energy storage systems. We are accelerating our global expansion and are now looking for local sales talents to lead our utility-scale energy storage business in key markets including Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, and Hungary.
Job Responsibilities 1. Market Development & Business Expansion
Develop and execute sales strategies for utility-scale energy storage (BESS) in the local market
Identify and pursue opportunities with IPPs, utilities, renewable developers, EPCs, and large C&I customers
Build a robust sales pipeline and achieve annual revenue targets
2. Local Presence from 0 to 1
Support the establishment of local sales presence and operational setup (if no existing entity)
For candidates with 0-1 experience: Lead the setup of local sales processes, customer relationship frameworks, and market entry strategies
Coordinate with HQ on legal, compliance, and local registration matters as needed
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers at target accounts
Understand local energy policies, grid connection regulations, and incentive schemes (e.g., feed‑in tariffs, capacity market)
Represent the company at local industry events, conferences, and customer meetings
4. Technical & Commercial Coordination
Work closely with HQ technical team to develop customized solutions for customer needs
Lead commercial negotiations including contract terms, pricing, and payment conditions
Coordinate with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with local regulations
Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and regulatory changes
Provide regular market feedback and insights to HQ for product and strategy refinement
Qualifications Must‑Have
Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Business, or related fields
5+ years of sales or business development experience in energy storage, renewable energy, or power systems
Proven track record of closing utility‑scale BESS or renewable energy deals (≥10MWh per project)
Deep understanding of local energy market structure, grid connection process, and key stakeholders (utilities, regulators, IPPs)
Local language fluency (Japanese/German/Dutch/Hungarian) + English proficiency – native or business level
Currently based in the target country with valid work authorization
Highly Preferred (0-1 Experience)
Experience setting up local sales presence/team from scratch in the target market
Experience working for Chinese renewable/energy storage companies in an overseas capacity (bridging HQ and local market)
Existing relationships with local utilities, EPCs, or renewable developers
Nice‑to‑Have
Experience with solar + storage hybrid projects
Knowledge of local battery standards and certifications
Familiarity with EOR (Employer of Record) employment models for overseas hiring
