Hillyard, Inc. is currently seeking an IT Applications & Data Architect to join our Information Technology team in St. Joseph, MO .
Are you passionate about designing scalable applications, solving complex business challenges, and driving technology innovation? Do you enjoy balancing hands-on development with technical leadership and architecture responsibilities?
As the IT Applications & Data Architect, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications and data solutions that drive business value across the organization. This position offers the opportunity to influence technology strategy, modernize business systems, and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to deliver impactful solutions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Lead the architecture, design, development, and support of enterprise applications and data solutions.
Partner with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Design and implement secure, high-performing applications using modern development practices and cloud technologies.
Guide projects through the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design through deployment and ongoing support.
Establish and maintain application architecture standards, development best practices, and coding guidelines.
Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot complex issues, improve application performance, and enhance user experiences.
Lead application modernization and integration initiatives across the organization.
Provide technical mentorship, conduct code reviews, and support the growth of development team members.
Evaluate technical feasibility, identify project risks, and recommend solutions that align with business objectives.
Drive continuous improvement in development processes, application quality, security, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications Include
6–10 years of experience in software development, application architecture, or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise business applications.
Strong understanding of software architecture, application design patterns, and modern development practices.
Experience leading technical projects and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
