Position Details Job Type: Permanent Specialty: Hematology/Oncology Location: Tarboro, NC Schedule: Monday Friday, full-time Call: Shared regional call schedule Setting: Outpatient-focused with hospital privileges Support Team: Experienced nurses, navigators, and nurse practitioner support Role Overview & Responsibilities Develop treatment plans for newly diagnosed hematology and oncology patients Provide chemotherapy oversight and ongoing patient management Supervise and collaborate with a nurse practitioner for follow-up visits Lead multidisciplinary tumor board discussions Participate in community-based cancer care while collaborating with regional oncology teams for advanced and late-stage diagnoses Program Highlights Accredited cancer center designated as a Community Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer Modern facility featuring: Healing garden 8 infusion chairs with 2 private infusion areas Patient image renewal spaces and community outreach areas Access to multidisciplinary teams including disease-focused medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists Collaborative support from a regional multispecialty clinic offering comprehensive services such as primary care, cardiology, radiology, sleep medicine, and rehabilitation Integrated Epic EMR across the system Built-in referral network ensuring strong patient volume and continuity of care Requirements Board Certification or Eligibility in Hematology and Oncology Active North Carolina medical license or ability to obtain one Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package Relocation assistance available Opportunities for: Loan repayment Sign-on bonus Income guarantees Residency/fellowship commitment stipends Community Highlights Tarboro, North Carolina, is a historic town that beautifully blends southern charm with modern convenience.
