DeHay & Elliston, a nationally recognized litigation firm, seeks an experienced litigation attorney to join our east bay area office. This position requires a candidate who is an active member of the California State Bar with a minimum of ten years of experience as a litigation attorney, with priority given to attorneys with three to five years in asbestos defense.
Qualifications and Skills: Civil litigation or toxic tort/asbestos defense experience preferred. Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral. Excellent organizational, time management, research, and analytical skills. Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and proactively manage a large caseload. Ability and willingness to look at a problem from a new or different perspective and design a unique solution. Must have ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Experience in billing required.
Job Duties: Working up a case from initial client contact to trial (under the guidance of a supervising Partner). Preparing and responding to discovery. Preparing and arguing motions, including dispositive motions. Taking percipient and expert depositions. Trial preparation and support.

The good faith, annualized salary range for this position is $200,000 to $280,000 depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law such as, education, training, other responsibilities. The annual salary range listed is just one component of DeHay & Elliston's total compensation and benefits package which includes a discretionary bonus, paid leave, health, dental, and life & disability insurance; in addition to our 401 (k) plan.
