The Field QA/QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring all construction and installation activities meet project specifications, company quality standards, applicable codes, and client requirements. This position performs field inspections, verifies workmanship and materials, documents quality activities, identifies deficiencies, and works closely with project teams to ensure compliance and successful project completion. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct daily field inspections of ongoing work activities. Verify installations comply with project drawings, specifications, codes, and client requirements. Inspect incoming materials and equipment for compliance with approved submittals and project requirements. Monitor work quality and identify non-conforming conditions. Generate and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and documentation. Track deficiencies, corrective actions, and punch-list items through completion. Coordinate inspections with clients, third‑party inspectors, and project management. Review and verify test reports, commissioning documentation, and turnover packages. Ensure proper installation methods, workmanship standards, and safety practices are followed. Assist with developing and implementing project‑specific quality control plans. Participate in project meetings and provide quality status updates. Support final project turnover and closeout activities. Electrical‑Specific Responsibilities Verify conduit, cable tray, and equipment installations. Inspect cable pulling, terminations, and labeling. Confirm grounding and bonding systems are installed correctly. Verify torque documentation for electrical connections. Witness and document electrical testing, including: Continuity testing Insulation resistance testing (Megger) Ground resistance testing Functional testing Equipment startup and commissioning
Review as‑built drawings for accuracy. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 3–5 years of electrical construction or industrial field experience. Previous QA/QC experience preferred. Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, NEMA, OSHA, and applicable industry standards. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schematics. Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital documentation systems. Strong communication and organizational skills. Required Skills Strong problem‑solving abilities. Ability to work independently in field environments. Excellent documentation and recordkeeping skills. Ability to communicate effectively with craft personnel, supervisors, clients, and inspectors. Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection processes. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access elevated work areas. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and inspect field installations for extended periods. Performance Expectations Maintain accurate and timely inspection documentation. Ensure project quality requirements are consistently met. Minimize rework through proactive inspections and issue identification. Support successful project completion with minimal punch‑list items.
