Overview A Boar’s Head Systems Analyst (SA) is a key analytical resource in the Enterprise Applications Team. They play a crucial role in ensuring that an organization’s enterprise applications meet the business’s needs. The role involves understanding business processes, needs, and challenges and defining technology solutions to address them. This includes gathering requirements, designing and documenting functional processes, testing, and troubleshooting. The SA must be technically savvy while also able to communicate and collaborate effectively with team members, IT Leadership, and stakeholders. Responsibilities Understand business needs and objectives and determine how IT can support those needs leveraging software, hardware, or infrastructure. Coordinate with stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, to ensure all needs are factored into the project scope. Analyze existing systems and recommend improvements to support business and IT strategic initiatives. Evaluate and select suitable tools and frameworks for business and IT strategy. Provide estimates of technical level of effort, assist with total cost of ownership, and define project goals, objectives, and outcomes. Develop proof‑of‑concept projects to validate proposed solutions. Review and validate solution designs from other team members. Oversee design, implementation, and integration of solutions. Ensure technological scalability and compliance with security standards. Monitor project progress after approval and keep IT leadership updated. Create technical documentation and architectural diagrams. Specific Duties Assist in designing and documenting a 3–5 year strategic roadmap for business verticals. Develop and maintain comprehensive understanding of business operations across manufacturing, distribution, finance, planning, sales, and marketing, identifying efficiency opportunities and automating processes. Lead development and maintenance of data pipelines using Boar’s Head streaming technologies (Kafka, Flink, ClickHouse). Oversee organizational data quality, monitoring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Assist in fixing data issues across processes and pipelines. Assist IT leadership in decision support analysis and identifying technical solutions. Collaborate with delivery managers, infrastructure, development, QA, and cross‑functional business teams to develop state‑of‑the‑art solutions. Identify and document data needs, analytics objectives, and reporting issues. Define resource requirements for implementation and future scalability of IT solutions. Lead gap‑fit analysis to evaluate states, identify gaps, and recommend improvements. Oversee vendor selection, contract reviews, and negotiations. Reengineer core business processes for standardization and effectiveness, fostering understanding of software functions, user interactions, limitations, error handling, and success metrics. Outline current and future state process diagrams using Visio or advanced modeling tools, providing technical process documentation and data flows. Project Management Support Provide expertise and guidance on technical requirements definition and approval of effort estimates. Assist the project manager with schedules, resources, scope, and change requests. Maintain experience with Atlassian project management tools (JIRA, Confluence). Technical Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or software engineering. At least 6 years of experience equivalent to a Solutions Architect or Data Engineer. Familiarity with data streaming technologies (Kafka, Flink, ClickHouse) and data wrangling, modeling, and analytics. Experience in data quality, observability, governance, integrity, analytics, and validation. Conceptual understanding of technical topology and overarching footprints. Basic understanding of Cyber Security concepts and Oracle EBS. Working knowledge of Tableau or similar analytics tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and SmartDraw. Soft Skills Adaptability and effective communication. Critical thinking, leadership, and guiding teams toward common goals. Problem solving, professionalism, teamwork, and time management. Physical Demands & Work Environment Requires full‑time onsite work in an office environment. Occasional travel and on‑call during non‑business hours may be required.
