Enterprise Security Architect Position based in Natick, Massachusetts, U.S. with a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week. Responsible for establishing and promoting security architectures, platforms and strategies for Cognex’s cloud environments, services and emerging AI infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Design and implement security platforms and architectures that provide governance and security for Cognex’s cloud environments, SaaS, and emerging AI infrastructure. Develop architectures and security platforms for Identity & Access Management, SSO, Federated Identity Management, Conditional Access, SaaS Integration, Cloud Security Posture Management, Data Security Posture Management, and related functions. Ensure architectures reflect governance and security objectives for cloud and AI, and the controls specified in relevant standards and frameworks. Collaborate with business sponsors, initiative leaders and engineers to convey and align governance and security architectures and requirements that must be incorporated in Cognex’s business plans. Document governance and security platforms, architectures, and roadmaps to convey plans and requirements for initiatives, investments and budgets, audits and compliance. Evangelize Cognex governance and security platforms and architectures throughout the organization, offering training and consultancy. Consult on best practices for security and data protection necessary for emerging technologies, including cloud services, AI infrastructure, applications, integrations and services. Sponsor change necessary to achieve greater scale and efficient governance and security; develop business cases, influence stakeholders, establish cross‑functional goals and facilitate leadership decision‑making. Drive change by developing implementation strategies, project plans, pilots, milestones and key performance indicators; lead and participate on projects and initiatives as required. Stay abreast of security trends, standards, and new technologies to evolve Cognex’s architectures and roadmaps; represent and communicate these factors to leaders. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of information security frameworks, standards, controls and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO27001, CIS, OWASP, IEC). Proficiency in cloud governance and security concepts and services for Azure, AWS, and/or VMware environments; experience designing and implementing cloud architectures, control towers, IAM, conditional access, shared services, DevOps, IaC, Graph/API integrations, logging, data storage protection, micro‑services. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, DevOps, Security Engineer or Architect for Azure/AWS/VMware. Hands‑on experience with cloud governance and security tools and platforms; familiarity with security assessment tools, vulnerability management, incident response and security operations. Demonstrated ability to document architectures and design principles, author white‑papers and give technical presentations. Experience preparing budgets, business cases, project plans, and technical or managerial presentations. Analytical skills to evaluate complex governance and security issues and provide strategic solutions. Exceptional written and oral communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners. Education and Work Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (advanced degrees a plus). 10years of experience in information security. 5years of experience designing solutions and architectures for governance and security in AWS, Azure, or VMware hosting environments. 5years of experience managing security in cloud environments, ideally supporting cloud DevOps, IaC and Kubernetes deployments. Proven track record leading security initiatives and managing cross‑functional initiatives and projects. Benefits Competitive base salary ranging from $140,000USD–$250,000USD.
