Community Liaison / Business Development Representative

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in the area of Independence, MO is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven Community Liaison / Business Development Representative to expand our community presence, strengthen referral partnerships, and support patient access to our services. This role is ideal for someone passionate about behavioral health who thrives on connecting people with the care they need. The name Three Trails was selected to honor the historical significance of the city of Independence as the starting point for the Santa Fe, Oregon and California Trails. The logo icon is a compass, which is symbolic of wayfinding, and metaphorically the personal journey to recovery. The Groundbreaking for the new hospital was held in January 2025. Beam topping was held in July 2025. The facility is expected to open in the second half of 2026.

The Community Liaison will:

  • Develop and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, therapists, social workers, schools, and community organizations
  • Conduct regular in-person visits, presentations, and follow-up to drive admissions growth
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence within the service area
  • Serve as a liaison between referral sources, patients, and the hospital's clinical team
  • Track referral trends, maintain CRM documentation, and meet/exceed monthly targets
  • Represent Three Trails Behavioral Hospital at community events and professional networking groups
  • Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activity

Will need to be able to come into the office on a case by case basis. Counties in Missouri that we are looking to service are Clay County, Cass County, Buchanan County, and Pettis County.

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital will:

  • Serve children and adolescents, adults and seniors with innovative and evidence-based inpatient behavioral healthcare focused on individual needs and comfort.
  • Create more than 200 new, full-time jobs including nurses, clinicians, therapists, technicians and administrative staff, when the facility is fully operational.
  • Be located at the intersection of I-70 and Little Blue Parkway, adjacent to the Children's Mercy Hospital Outpatient Clinics.
  • Feature 120 licensed beds ready to meet the mental health needs of the surrounding community.
  • Span more than 88,000 square feet, and will include an activity yard and gym.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Business, Behavioral Health, or related field (required)
  • Experience may be evaluated on a case by case basis in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare marketing, business development, behavioral health outreach, or related field highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of referral processes
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation (travel required)
