At the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), we deliver clean, reliable electricity to power lives and businesses across the Pacific Northwest. Our mission relies on resilient, state-of-the-art infrastructure. As a Facility Operations Specialist, you are the critical linchpin behind this mission. By serving as the primary technical authority and strategic lead for our vital facility operations, you ensure the environments supporting our grid operations, aviation assets, and headquarters run flawlessly. Your expertise directly safeguards the workspace of the hands that keep the lights on for millions.

Below are the key, high-impact responsibilities where you will drive excellence, lead innovation, and make a tangible difference:

Key Responsibilities & Core Duties

Spearhead Strategic Program Leadership: Serve as the primary program manager and lead authority for facility operations. You will define long-term goals, prioritize initiatives, and coordinate design, construction, and maintenance projects across critical BPA headquarters and specialized technical complexes.

Manage Large-Scale Service Contracts: Act as the primary representative overseeing major, integrated facility management service contracts. You will direct resource allocation, monitor vendor performance metrics, and make critical decisions to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Drive Multi-Year Financial & Resource Strategy: Formulate and implement comprehensive, multi-year strategic plans for replacing aging infrastructure. You will analyze system life cycles, oversee budgets and schedules, manage risks, and build data-driven business cases to secure project funding.

Act as the Authoritative Technical Expert: Provide expert-level guidance, consultative services, and problem-solving support to BPA staff, senior executives, and external business partners. You will interpret building safety regulations, environmental best practices, and technical policy directives.

Guide Engineering & Maintenance Solutions: Analyze complex structural and systems challenges to develop cost-effective, practical engineering and maintenance solutions. You will oversee routine upkeep, emergency response plans, and construction outages to keep critical facilities operational 24/7.

Champion Collaborative Project Management: Define project scopes, requirements, and final deliverables in close collaboration with diverse internal departments and external partners. You will guide projects smoothly through phases, milestones, and rigorous safety reviews.

Foster a Culture of Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of professional facilities staff and contractors. You will cultivate a workplace culture characterized by customer focus, creative problem-solving, and professional growth.

Deliver High-Level Briefings & Influence Policy: Synthesize complex data into clear, persuasive presentations and reports for top-level management. You will build collaborative working relationships across the agency to resolve resource conflicts and champion new facility policies.
