Position: Nursing Recruitment Coordinator
Description: The NRC is a staff position responsible to work under the direction of the DON and in collaboration with the CBM, CPNP, and CGC.
Qualifications: University degree required. RN licensure preferred.
Appointment: This appointment is made by the Dean of Nursing (DON) and the Vice President of Academic Services.
Performance Standards: It is the duty and responsibility of the NRC to perform, at a satisfactory level, the following tasks:
- Communicate with prospective nursing students and follows-up appropriately.
- Aggressively and systematically look for more opportunities to recruit nursing students.
- Assist in maintaining files and a database of prospective nursing students and submits active files to the Chair of the Admission/Progression Committee when they are ready for action.
- Attend Nursing Admission/Progression Committee meetings as well as selected nursing faculty functions.
- Prepare prospective student program plans on an individual basis.
- Assess transcripts for courses that are transferable.
- Collaborate with traditional, adult, and graduate admissions with recruitment visits when appropriate.
- Assist in advising and registering students for their first semester of classes.
- Consult with the registrar, DON, and CGC when necessary.
- Refer complex questions and applicant problems to the DON.
- Monitor and update the School of Nursing website and social media sites under the direction of nursing administration.
- Maintain and update SON brochures, recruiting material, and other documents as directed.
- Coordinate and collaborate with nursing administration.
- Other duties as assigned.
