• Appliesknowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and principles of business to enhance the IBNR(IncurredButNot Reported)models and improve the monthly close process.

• Workswith a team of financial analysts to assist with the actuarial components oftheannual financial plan. Assistsin the determination of revenue, reserves and/or cash flow projections.

• Identifies data patterns and trends, and provides insights to enhance business decision making capability in business planning, process improvement, solution assessment, etc. 

• Analyzesand validatespayer claims data.Assistsmarkets to identify factors driving claims cost and estimateshistorical and prospective trends.

• Performsactuarial analysis of CMS public information.Calculatesstatistical and probability forecasts and models from data. 

• RunsCMS risk adjustment model to calculate member level risk scores.

• Providesactuarial support to markets;creates anddistributesreports;respondsto inquiries.

• Assistsin actuarial research, experience studies, and statistical analyses and calculations.

• Reviewsaccuracy of data and calculations. Reportsand interpretsresults of data analysis. Analyzesrisk evaluation data, using appropriate models and statistical methods;createsrelevant charts and graphs.

• Performsother duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.

• Software skills in Visual Basic, SQL and SAS

• Good analytical and communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database software 

• Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationwide up to10% of the time

• Spoken and written fluency in English

• This job requires use and exercise of independent judgment 

• Bachelor’s degree; Completion of 2+ actuarial exams; on track to ASA/FSA designation.Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis above the minimum required

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, statistics, data science or finance preferred

• No prior experience required

• Data science experience preferred

PAY RANGE:

The posted pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for this position. Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for a bonuses or commissions.
