The Actuarial Services Analyst is responsible for managing and tracking the risk positions within ChenMed as well as supporting the strategic goals of the company. Performs technical and analytical support functions to help the department and the company meets its goals. Works with different departments within ChenMed to provide analytics supported by actuarial modeling.In alignment with our Finance vision, this position will support the transformation of care for the neediest populations by being committed to business focused self-development, through the generation and use of information to support business leadership in driving great decisions, optimizing performance and ensuring accountability through transparency, actionable insights and education.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Appliesknowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and principles of business to enhance the IBNR(IncurredButNot Reported)models and improve the monthly close process.
Workswith a team of financial analysts to assist with the actuarial components oftheannual financial plan. Assistsin the determination of revenue, reserves and/or cash flow projections.
Identifies data patterns and trends, and provides insights to enhance business decision making capability in business planning, process improvement, solution assessment, etc.
Analyzesand validatespayer claims data.Assistsmarkets to identify factors driving claims cost and estimateshistorical and prospective trends.
Performsactuarial analysis of CMS public information.Calculatesstatistical and probability forecasts and models from data.
RunsCMS risk adjustment model to calculate member level risk scores.
Providesactuarial support to markets;creates anddistributesreports;respondsto inquiries.
Assistsin actuarial research, experience studies, and statistical analyses and calculations.
Reviewsaccuracy of data and calculations. Reportsand interpretsresults of data analysis. Analyzesrisk evaluation data, using appropriate models and statistical methods;createsrelevant charts and graphs.
Performsother duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.
Software skills in Visual Basic, SQL and SAS
Good analytical and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database software
Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationwide up to10% of the time
Spoken and written fluency in English
This job requires use and exercise of independent judgment
Bachelor’s degree; Completion of 2+ actuarial exams; on track to ASA/FSA designation.Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis above the minimum required
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, statistics, data science or finance preferred
No prior experience required
Data science experience preferred
PAY RANGE:
$64,583 - $92,262 SalaryThe posted pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for this position. Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for a bonuses or commissions.
