Identifies defective equipment or malfunctioning parts and takes appropriate action for repairs or replacements. May provide preventative measures and maintenance on unit equipment.
Assembles, tests and ensures correct working order of unit equipment.
Inventories medical supplies and equipment. Establishes stocking standards for units. Identifies areas for improvements and facilitates needed improvements.
Takes appropriate action in dealing with product recalls for medical supplies.
Assists staff in obtaining new equipment or supplies.
Gathers information to aid in the evaluation of requests or suggestions made by nursing or medical staff regarding medical supplies and equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent and less than 1 year of relevant experience required
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong interpersonal communications ability required
Ability to operate and perform essential functions independently, strong prioritization and multitasking skills required
Basic computer ability, including Word, Excel, Outlook and internet required
Ability to travel between local hospitals during shift required
Ability to meet physical demands required of work required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Valid New York State Driver’s License upon hire required
CN-HEMO - Certified Hemodialysis Technician for ICU Ops Techs working in Dialysis upon hire preferred or
Other recognized industry-specific certification upon hire preferred
