Overview Clinical Shared Services is seeking a programmer analyst with a problem‑solving mindset to join our team to support the EHR system here at NYP. Location: New York, New York. Shift: Day (United States of America). All roles require on‑site presence; employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse travel expenses. Responsibilities Design, develop, code, test, support, debug, and document clinical applications to implement and sustain Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems. Develop and program forms, reports, surveys, queries, macros, scripts, print groups, and other highly technical aspects of system implementation, maintenance, and integration. Work with various stakeholders to understand project goals and requirements. Analyze and understand various data models in depth; proactively define data structures that improve performance or add value; maintain accurate documentation. Provide design support for the development of business intelligence solutions and their continuous maintenance; provide problem‑solving assistance to end users. Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership to understand user needs, documenting project work plans and requirements including critical tasks, milestones, timelines, interdependencies, and contingencies, and revise existing system logic as necessary. Improve programming practices where possible and adhere to corporate standards for performance metrics, data collection, data integrity, query design, and reporting format to ensure high‑quality, meaningful analytic output. Assist in the management of technical support issues, problem escalation, resolution, and risk minimization. Maintain knowledge of industry standards and best practices, including HIPAA, to ensure all deliverables meet those standards. Work closely with clinical and business users and assist a multi‑disciplinary team in the design, implementation, optimization, change management, and issue resolution related to the enterprise system. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business or equivalent. 1 or more years of related work experience. Proficient in SQL and database modeling. Preferred Skills & Experience Experience with programming languages and at least 2 years of participation in software installation projects of medium/large size and complexity. Familiarity with all phases of the software development lifecycle. Experience with relational database and application development tools such as Intersystems Caché. Knowledge of general business technologies (Windows, Microsoft Office), hardware, various web technologies, and other programming languages. Ability to identify and compare alternative solutions and approaches to problems. Knowledge of core technologies specific to clinical systems is a plus. Experience with data exploration and data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI). Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
