Location: McKinney, TX. Position Purpose We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Manager of Business Intelligence to lead our BI team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence, analytics, and data visualization, along with proven leadership and stakeholder partnership skills. This role will play a critical part in enabling self‑service analytics, improving data literacy, and acting as a trusted data advisor to business leaders. Key Responsibilities Leadership & BI Delivery Lead and manage the Business Intelligence team, providing guidance, mentorship, and career development. Develop and implement PowerBI strategies and solutions to support business objectives and data‑driven decision‑making. Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models and visualizations using PowerBI, SQL, and related technologies. Monitor and optimize BI platforms for performance, reliability, scalability, and adoption.
Data Enablement & Self‑Service Analytics Drive data enablement initiatives to empower business users with reliable, well‑modeled data assets. Establish and promote self‑service BI standards, reusable datasets, semantic models, and certified reports. Partner with data engineering and architecture teams to ensure data availability, quality, and governance align with analytical needs. Improve data literacy across the organization via best‑practice documentation and training. Define and track adoption metrics to measure effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership Act as trusted data partner and advisor to senior leaders across departments. Engage stakeholders to understand business challenges, KPIs, and analytical maturity. Translate needs into scalable BI solutions and facilitate regular reviews, road‑mapping, and prioritization. Balance short‑term reporting needs with long‑term platform and data strategy investments. Communicate insights effectively for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Strategy & Continuous Improvement Stay current with industry trends and emerging BI capabilities. Incorporate best practices into the BI roadmap. Contribute to enterprise data strategy with recommendations for tools, processes, and governance.
Direct Manager and Team The Senior Manager reports to the Director of Business Intelligence and oversees a team of Business Intelligence Analysts and other BI professionals. Travel & Physical Requirements Occasional travel (10‑20%) to collaborate with stakeholders. Primarily office‑based; ability to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods and lift items up to 10lb. Physical requirements and accommodations are stated per ADA requirements. Working Conditions The role is hybrid, balancing in‑office collaboration with remote work flexibility in a fast‑paced environment that requires prioritization and cross‑functional engagement. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field; Master’s preferred. 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related fields with demonstrable business impact. 4+ years of people‑leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, and developing BI or analytics teams. Proficiency with PowerBI, SQL, and modern BI architectures. Experience in data enablement, analytics adoption, or data product ownership. Strong partnership skills to influence priorities and translate business needs into solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for complex data concepts. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills across large data sets. Experience in the B2B wholesale industry is a plus.
