Akumen, Inc. seeks dynamic, self‑motivated individuals with experience as a Project Manager. We are looking for a Project Manager that can work closely with customers and be a liaison with the team. You will be working with a wonderful team of experienced Project Managers and System Engineers.
Required This position will be located in Springfield, VA and requires 4 days onsite due to the classified nature of the project. This fully funded position supporting the Department of State.
Responsibilities
Helps manage project change and configuration processes by managing change requests, reviewing open issues, updating configuration baselines, and communicating essential information to the project team and stakeholders
Assists in the successful execution of the program testing process and testing activities
Assists with the management and optimization of service delivery processes and service agreements and analyzes IT operation metrics for problems and opportunities
Helps establish IT project plans including project purpose, objectives, technical approach, and schedules
Supports the creation and maintenance of program documentation including Standard Operating Procedures, Test Plans, Reference Guides, Training Guides, etc.
Supports administration of SharePoint and the program’s document repository
Supports team travel, and logistics (as required)
Supports equipment inventory, and shipping needs (as required)
Travel and off‑hours work may be required though minimal
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or IT Management (or equivalent related field experience)
PMP certification required
4+ years of experience in the Information Technology field
3+ years of experience in writing technical documents
3+ years of experience in a client facing role; federal clients preferred
Knowledge of developing, implementing, and monitoring IT program and project delivery
Proficiency in MS Office Proficiency with MS Office Suite, and SharePoint
Positive attitude, willingness to learn and apply new skills and approaches, team player
Strong communication (written and oral), presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills
Able to take initiative, manage own workload, and assume responsibility for tasks
Able to multi‑task, handle multiple projects, and meet internal and client deadlines
Ability to exercise sound judgment and innovative thinking
Desired Qualifications
ScrumMaster (CSM) certification
Familiarity with MS Project and ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM)
Clearance Requirement
Active Secret or Top‑Secret government security clearance.
