Description: The Radiologic Technologist is a professional licensed in California. This role is under the general supervision of the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging. The technologist performs a variety of duties in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, fractures, and medical abnormalities as per physician orders. Ability to perform imaging examinations in all modalities with proficiency is required. It is the responsibility of this individual to follow all federal and state regulations, rules, and laws applicable to Diagnostic Imaging services. The position responsibilities and duties include understanding and performing the duties of a Radiologic Technologist. The candidate should understand the complexities of imaging equipment in all modalities, including radiology and CT. Demonstrating knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety-related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patient served is essential. The technologist must demonstrate knowledge of positioning patients for optimal results. The ability to perform duties with minimal supervision is necessary. The candidate must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. The technologist should be able to perform duties under adverse conditions and consistently produce quality images. Organizational skills in managing self, equipment, and supplies efficiently are required. The ability to react quickly and efficiently in emergency situations is necessary. Ensuring all areas are properly stocked with supplies is important. Candidates should demonstrate self-reliance, resourcefulness, and accountability. The applicant will assist the team and medical staff efficiently. The ability to change priorities on short notice is essential. Maintaining and accessing proper documentation, records, and files for all modalities is required. The technologist must maintain strict patient confidentiality. Participation in ensuring compliance of Diagnostic Imaging Services with all federal and state regulations is expected. Observing all departmental and hospital policies and procedures is essential. Assisting with answering phones and patient scheduling may be included. Maintaining safe working conditions should be a priority. The candidate must react quickly and efficiently in case of equipment breakdown. Monitoring equipment and reporting to the Manager if a problem is suspected or occurs is required. Observing all equipment safety standards is crucial. Providing care appropriate to the age of the patient being served is necessary. The technologist must evaluate for appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiologic norms. Assessing for signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect is expected. The candidate should assess the need for safety measures such as the ability to stand or transfer without help. Adjusting contrast media appropriately for different age groups is essential. Using shielding appropriate for age group and exam is necessary. Remaining flexible to the needs of the facility regarding staffing patterns is crucial. Actively participating in the resolution of staffing conflicts is encouraged. The technologist should demonstrate effective communication methods and skills in all areas of practice. Sharing call and work schedule equally within the department as assigned is required. Participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) monitoring may be necessary.
