Job Description Job Summary: GNA Float (CNA) provides direct resident care while supporting staffing coverage across long-term and subacute units. This role requires reliable weekend and holiday availability, along with strong clinical support skills in high-acuity and memory-focused environments. Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on care including vital signs, ADLs, and patient intake/output recording. Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and assist with EKGs and related diagnostics support. Assist with mobility and transfers, including ambulation support and use of equipment such as hoyer lift and wheelchairs. Support bedside procedures by preparing materials and assisting the licensed professional during invasive procedures such as PICC line insertions. Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate changes in condition to the care team. Deliver person-centered care while following unit-specific safety practices, including dementia/exit-risk precautions when applicable. Qualifications: Hold a valid Maryland or Compact CNA license at time of submission. Maintain current BLS and AHA CPR certification. Possess GNA certification (must be held). Bring at least 1 year of relevant experience (2 years preferred for higher-acuity settings such as HICU, when applicable). Demonstrate proficiency in vitals, phlebotomy, EKG support, ADLs, intake/output recording, and specimen collection. Ability to safely assist with ambulation and transfers using hoyer lift and wheelchair support.
