Convert existing Qlik dashboards to Power Bi. Support and maintain the exiting Qlik dashboards, in parallel, while they are converted/replaced by Power Bi dashboards. Interact with business customers regularly to consolidate and analyze requirements and present them the dashboard design results. Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and techniques for collecting, processing, storing, and distributing Power Bi dashboards.
Data Warehouse Related
Create and maintain Enterprise DW architecture and standards based on Microsoft SQL Server and the Department’s Data Visualization and Statistics platforms. Interact with business customers regularly to consolidate and analyze requirements and present them the design results. Create/maintain ETL architecture and provide strategy related to data cleansing, data quality, and data consolidation. Analyze developer’s needs for new DW objects and make recommendations as to the most efficient way to implement the requirements while ensuring optimization. Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and techniques for collecting, processing, storing DW data. Develop and maintain processes that optimize databases and queries to ensure response times are kept to a minimum. Work with the database team to create SQL Server Integration Systems (SSIS) Packages that push data to SQL server databases from IBM mainframe DB2 databases.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree, from an accredited college/university, in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience. Required Experience: Demonstratable excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience preparing verbal and written status reports. Experience in providing customer/management verbal and written briefings. Power Bi Related
Two (2) or more years of experience in converting Qlik dashboards to Power Bi. Two (2) or more years of experience building Power Bi dashboards to satisfy business requirements. Experience with the full development cycle of a Data Visualization including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and maintenance of dashboards. Three (3) or more years of experience building/supporting Power Bi dashboards. Four (4) or more years of experience developing data visualization dashboards.
Data Warehouse Related
Two (2) or more years of experience building ELT processes that load DB2 data streams into a SQL Server Data Warehouse environment. Three (3) or more years of experience with the full development cycle of a Data Warehouse, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and maintenance. Five (5) or more years of experience in Data Warehouse administration. Five (5) or more years of experience in SQL Server administration to include SSIS package development and support.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in Data administration in a multi-tiered environment (DB2 and SQL). Data Visualization and Statistics experience utilizing tools such as Power Bi, Qlik and/or SAS. Experience using Data Modeling tools. Experience with IBM Message queuing, working with heterogeneous data sources, and Host Integration Services.
