Department Overview Information Technology is a unified organization comprised of various departments which collaborate effectively to deliver high quality technology solutions. The Billing Modernization team resides within the Customer Systems & Solutions (CSS) group and is part of the Product & Enterprise Platforms group that supports IT projects, operations, risks & compliance. This team is in the midst of a large customer transformation journey with a main emphasis of modernizing and re‑architecting our Billing and rates platforms.
Position Summary Leads a team that develops new applications, designs and installs new IT technical architecture and infrastructure systems, or enhances existing systems. Assembles the project team and utilizes the provided cost and scheduling tools to define the scope, budget, and resource needs, and controls other project variables. Functions as a liaison between IT and the Business Client. Acts as the go‑to person that represents the entire project from the planning through to the deployment stage.
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint $147,000 – $200,000. The final decision will be made on a case‑by‑case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

This position is hybrid, working from our Oakland Headquarters based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Job Responsibilities
Accurately and consistently forecast project resource, material and contract costs within a standard PG&E tool(s)
Assess project performance and implement changes as necessary to keep projects within specified cost, schedule, scope and quality objectives
Clearly define and communicate roles, responsibilities and expectations for all members of the project team
Collaborate with others to develop goals that achieve company strategy
Communicate individual project roles and expectations
Communicate status of all projects to stakeholders and management
Complete project artifact audits on time
Conduct project kick‑off meetings
Conduct site visits as necessary
Coordinate any required contract work within defined PG&E policy
Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with project sponsors, vendors and key clients
Maintain up‑to‑date detailed project schedules and work plans
Develop metrics, procedures, objectives and methods to assess project progress using established standards and quality objectives
Drive all project related tasks to completion
Ensure all project team members have the tools and training required to perform effectively
Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance with moderate scope and complexity
Function in a process‑oriented environment
Gather, define and document project requirements
Plan all associated work to meet project goals independently
Plan work to meet broad objectives independently
Lead a team of 1–2 employees as required
Monitor critical project milestones and identify ways to resolve schedule issues
Obtain and define staffing requirements and form project teams
Prepare all project documentation for closure, storage and possible auditing activities, ensuring technical accuracy
Provide creative and innovative approaches to meet work plan objectives
Provide direction and leadership to project management analysts and schedulers
Record, track and communicate issues, risks, changes and status reports within a PG&E standard tool
Resolve problems of project specific scope within procedural guidelines
Lead a group of project managers on a particular task, including mentoring, training, direction and oversight of their assigned responsibilities
Lead one or more projects typically between $1,000,000 and $50,000,000
Seek guidance only on critical and politically sensitive issues
Qualifications Minimum:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience
10 years experience in project management, IT-Information Technology
PMP-Project Management Professional certification
Experience as Project Manager on high complexity projects
Experience in IT professional service agreements
Desired:
Graduate Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience
Leadership experience, job-related, 5 years
Experience in PMO-Program Management Office development
