Project Manager - Portfolio Management

The work schedule will be hybrid, three days a week in the office and two days remote. The choice of onsite work location will be with the candidate and he / she can work in either of the firm's office locations closest to their residence. The ideal candidate should also possess a green card or be of citizenship. No Visa entanglements and no H1-B holding company submittals. This position pays $75.00 per hour on a w-2 hourly basis or $85.00 per hour on a Corp basis. The Corp rate is for independent contractors only and not third-party firms. No Visa entanglements and no H1-B holding companies.

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing portfolio planning and delivery for the end-to-end solutions aligned to the business strategy. Portfolio Manager understands the business financial, technical, and operations contexts and supports business and technology leadership teams in managing delivery of their strategic roadmap. The firm has established the Enterprise Portfolio Management & Governance Organization to drive measurable, consistent, predictable portfolio delivery to accelerate and optimize value-add solutions across all of the firm's Lines of Business.

To drive these outcomes, the firm is seeking a candidate with extensive experience as a project portfolio and/or program manager managing large transformational initiatives. A successful candidate will be able to coordinate and drive strategic roadmap delivery enabling business operational excellence and meeting target KPIs.

Responsibilities
  • Orchestrate portfolio planning & delivery across business, finance and technology leadership providing data-driven insights for prioritization.
  • Manage portfolio delivery roadmap aligned to strategic objectives ensuring outcomes are implemented within schedule, financials, and scope.
  • Manage portfolio spending, forecasting expenses, progress measurement and audit compliance to Portfolio governance.
  • Facilitate business case creation and changes in accordance with Enterprise Portfolio management process including capacity assessment & prioritization impacts.
  • Foster Operational Excellence in portfolio intake through delivery process focusing on continually improving efficiency, driving consistency, and achieving business objectives.
  • Manage expectations of and influence several diverse stakeholders, through effective communication to accomplish business strategic objectives through portfolio delivery.
  • Provide guidance to delivery teams on the use and application of portfolio management tools in alignment with enterprise portfolio management guidelines.
Reporting Relationships

As the Portfolio Manager you will report to our Head of Enterprise Portfolio who reports to Strategy Planning & Transformation Office under Digital & Technology.

Qualifications

A Master's Degree OR equivalent work experience. A minimum of ten years of program and portfolio management. A minimum of five years recent experience leading programs through Agile / SAFe / Iterative / Hybrid methodologies. Demonstrated an understanding of business line initiatives, and highly specialized working knowledge of program or project management methodologies (e.g., SAFe, agile, waterfall, etc.) and be comfortable working in a complex matrix environment. Demonstrated experience successfully managing large transformational programs with multiple business and technology stakeholders. Highly proficient using ServiceNow SPM, JIRA, SharePoint, and other software for project and task management. Process Improvement methodology experience preferred (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, SAFe, etc.). An ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple and logical manner. Excellent problem-solving analytical capabilities with strong attention to detail. Domain experience in insurance and / or financial industries.
