Department & Mission The California Department of Social Services’ Information Systems Division (ISD) and Information Security & Privacy Office (ISPO) focus on protecting information assets and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Role Summary This 12‑month, limited‑term position may extend to 24 months and, based on operational needs, could become permanent.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the gathering, organization, and validation of audit documentation and technical evidence for external oversight reviews.
Maintain audit logs, risk registers, compliance repositories, and track corrective actions to support ongoing remediation efforts.
Compile technical metrics, summaries, and dashboards to support reporting to security leadership and program stakeholders.
Research cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements and summarize impacts for team and leadership awareness.
Participate in audit preparation activities, technical meetings, and documentation reviews to support audit readiness.
Draft, edit, and prepare technical reports, checklists, procedures, and compliance documentation under the guidance of senior specialists.
Special Requirements
Background Investigation clearance required prior to hiring.
Fingerprinting clearance by the Department of Justice.
