Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Cardiothoracic Surgeon, you will join the distinguished Cardiothoracic Surgery & Specialty Care team at Dignity Health Medical Group - Bakersfield. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to provide advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical care within a collaborative, physician-led environment dedicated to high-quality outcomes and compassionate, patient-centered care.

You will deliver comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical services, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair and replacement, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, and structural heart procedures. Operating at Dignity Health - Memorial Hospital and the Sarvanand Heart & Brain Center, you will work closely with cardiology, anesthesiology, critical care, nursing, and advanced practice providers to ensure coordinated care for a broad and diverse patient population across Kern County and the greater Central Valley.

To be successful in this role, you will be a BC/BE Cardiothoracic Surgeon with a commitment to delivering exceptional care within an established program boasting strong volumes and robust referral patterns. We are offering an exceptional compensation package starting at $750,000 - $800,000, including a guaranteed base salary for the first two years, with further earning potential through significant productivity incentives. You will also receive a signing bonus, relocation assistance, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement plan with employer matching, CME stipend, malpractice coverage, generous paid time off, and robust health and welfare offerings for you and your dependents.


Job Requirements

Required

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or eligibility in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Active or eligible license in the state of California
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
