About the role This position is responsible for performing the Quality Inspector and Warehouse job responsibilities as outlined below on their assigned shift. Approximately 50% of this position’s time will be spent completing duties in each department.
Responsibilities
Supports a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures
Supports a quality work environment by following quality policies and procedures
Performs inspections of products at various phases (incoming, first/last piece, in-process, and final) to established specifications which may include cosmetic, dimensional, and functional characteristics
Identifies and labels non-conforming products and coordinates the segregation of non-conforming products to the appropriate location
Dispositions non-conforming products as directed by a material review board (MRB) or other authority
Uses measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers to measure part characteristics
Evaluates first and last molded samples and writes licenses and work orders based on results of the evaluation
Maintains quality records of all inspections and tests performed either on paper or electronically as required
Ensures work is completed in accordance with departmental documentation and QMS requirements.
Expedites raw material from warehouse to production departments
Delivers completed finished goods pallets from production to shipping location
Stages raw materials from incoming trailers
Locates raw materials in warehouse locations from receiving area, using Warehouse Management System functions (WMS)
Wraps and loads trailers for deployment to distribution centers
Loads and/or unloads LTL carries
May locate trailers to and away from docks and within the freight yard
Qualifications
Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written English
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook at a basic level
Ability to solve basic math problems
Ability to communicate, organize, and use time effectively
Ability to work independently and in teams
Ability to attend to details, multi-task, and handle multiple priorities without undue stress or errors
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent, two-year technical degree preferred
Quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Warehouse experience preferred
Powered Industrial Truck experience preferred
Travel
Up to 1% may be required
