Senior Solution Architect – Application & API Security You will work directly with some of the world’s largest enterprises. You will design, integrate, and optimize security solutions across cloud, Kubernetes, networking, and API infrastructures. This highly hands‑on technical role provides strategic architectural exposure and enables you to help customers deploy and operationalize API Security solutions as a primary responsibility.
Responsibilities
Integrate and lead the deployment of the API Security Platform and its components across diverse enterprise ecosystems.
Resolve deployment issues across Kubernetes platforms, virtual appliances, cloud infrastructure, networking, API gateways, authentication flows, hybrid architectures, and distributed applications.
Act as a partner to customer engineering, DevOps, cloud, networking, or security teams to deploy and operationalize Akamai API Security Platform.
Analyze API traffic to identify misconfigurations, authentication gaps, and performance bottlenecks.
Support configuration of inbound‑ and outbound‑traffic sources for major API gateways and platforms such as F5, Citrix, Apigee, Kong, NGINX, or MuleSoft.
Develop enterprise architecture diagrams, integration patterns, deployment plans, and operational runbooks.
Lead customer workshops, technical enablement sessions, and architectural reviews.
Qualifications
Possess adequate role‑experience and customer‑facing skills.
Demonstrate extensive experience in architecting IaaS solutions for customers. Hold professional certifications from AWS, GCP, Azure, Oracle, and/or CNCF.
Have experience troubleshooting distributed cloud‑native applications and debugging skills across infrastructure, networking, and application layers.
Have experience with containerized environments like Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, or traditional enterprise infrastructure systems such as Linux and VMware/OVA hosting.
Possess hands‑on experience with major cloud platforms and IaC tools while understanding networking fundamentals like TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/S.
Understand modern API technologies such as RESTful APIs, OAuth/JWT, API authentication, authorization, and configuration of API gateways, ingress controllers, or WAF/WAAP.
Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to clearly explain complex technical concepts and explore AI‑assisted development and innovative coding approaches.
