If you’ve ever considered a job in IT, becoming an Information Technology Specialist in the Army National Guard will expand your skills and experience with complex technologies. In this role you will send, receive, and process messages and data across the Guard’s sophisticated networks, maintain and troubleshoot systems that support military logistics and classified data, and build firewalls to withstand cyberattacks.
Job Duties
Maintenance of networks, hardware, and software
Provide customer and network administration services
Construct, edit, and test computer programs

Use of computer consoles and peripheral equipment
Computer systems conceptsPlanning, designing, and testing computer systems
Helpful Skills
Interest in computer science
Strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively
Experience in installation of computers
Earn While You Learn Instead of paying to learn these skills, you will get paid while receiving training. You will earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance. Job training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training and 20 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) with classroom instruction.

Requirements
Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
Must meet citizenship requirements
