As a Network Engineer – Power Systems (OT) you will provide expert technical support and power system automation solutions. Your role involves teaching, advising, and supporting customers to ensure the reliability and safety of power grids. At SEL, our mission is to make electric power safer, more reliable, and more economical. Responsibilities Provide expert technical support and power system automation solutions to customers. Deliver training, demonstrations, and support for SEL products through visits, phone, and online. Apply principles, theories, and standard techniques to solve a variety of problems. Maintain and improve knowledge of power system communications such as fiber links, radio connections, IP systems, switches, routers, LAN/WAN networks, servers, and TCP/IP. Use and support SONET technology, multiplexers, and legacy TDM interfaces (e.g., C37.94, Async EIA-232). Contribute to product specifications, application and testing software, literature, white papers, and guides. Participate in SEL marketing, sales activities, industry technical meetings, and conferences. Troubleshoot SEL products and solutions to identify root causes of problems. Assist customers in applying SEL products and sharing technical expertise. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience with power system automation and controls. Experience with wired protection and control network communications systems, fiber optic, microwave, and spread‑spectrum radio, TDM and Ethernet technologies, communication test sets and analyzers, time synchronization, and industry network design and security practices. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Strong communication and presentation skills. Excellent problem‑solving skills and a desire to learn new technologies. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. Passion for teaching and creativity in engineering solutions. Enjoys an ever‑changing daily work environment. Location Open to locations in Columbus, GA; Alpharetta, GA; Wesley Chapel, FL; Charlotte, NC. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $84,200 – $160,000 per year, determined by job, responsibility, and location. Competitive pay and superior benefits include 10 paid holidays, annual vacation accrual starting at 12 days, 9 paid sick days, and paid family & medical leave covering 90% of pay.
