Job Summary WGEM is seeking a Digital Content Manager to lead day‑to‑day digital publishing across web, social, smartphone apps, and Smart TV apps. Reporting to the Digital News Director, you will manage people and platforms to drive fast, accurate digital execution, consistent standards, and measurable growth in reach and engagement.
Duties & Responsibilities
Drive breaking‑news execution: rapid updates, digital news desk breakings, push alerts, and live coverage.
Lead day‑to‑day digital publishing: assign, prioritize, and publish across web, social, and apps.
Train and coach digital staff on workflows, publishing standards, and best practices.
Use analytics to track performance: optimize placement and report weekly wins/lessons learned.
Champion digital‑first storytelling (short‑form vertical video, interactive/visual stories, platform‑specific content).
Partner with reporters/producers and marketing/promotions to align coverage and station initiatives.
Write and publish news coverage across all WGEM digital platforms as needed.
Source and verify user‑generated content; produce enterprise/innovative formats (interactive maps, infographics, special streams/CTV programming).
Grow CTV/streaming through a strategy for live and on‑demand content.
Qualifications & Requirements
2+ years in digital journalism/producing or newsroom content leadership.
Proven ability to lead a team and run day‑to‑day publishing operations.
Strong writing, editing, and coaching skills.
Fluency with major social platforms, SEO, and audience‑growth best practices.
