Our work depends on a Systems Administrator with Linux and Windows Infrastructure experience to manage and maintain mission‑critical operational IT systems and mission applications in Springfield, Virginia. As the Systems Administrator on this contract, you will be on an engineering team that provides IT Systems Administration support to global real‑time operational activities. Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are essential to resolving operational problems. Clear communication and briefing skills are essential when communicating with the team, its users, and individuals in leadership roles. You must be willing and able to work core hours between 6:00am to 6:00pm during the week and participate in an on‑call rotation for after‑hours support. Responsibilities Provides TierII support of IT infrastructure systems and custom mission applications based on a mixed Linux and Windows environment. Create, manage, and maintain accounts and group membership in Active Directory, LDAP, TACACS, and KVM. Experience managing Windows‑based virtual server environments. Hands‑on knowledge of RedHat5 & 7 as well as Windows Server2008,2016, and Windows10 in physical and virtual environments. Monitor and evaluate environments using Nagios and document, resolve, or elevate any problems discovered. Monitor and troubleshoot daily backups using Symantec NetBackupv8. Patch Linux and Windows systems in an operational environment. Ensure all systems run current antivirus software with up‑to‑date definitions; experience with ClamAV and Windows EPO is a plus. Work with systems engineers and factory support to troubleshoot and resolve system anomalies. Participate in special projects as required. Qualifications Active TS/SCI with Polygraph, and willingness to upgrade to a higher level polygraph. Installing and configuring various commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) products. Providing physical and virtual support, maintenance, and security for RedHat (RHEL5 & 7), Sun Solaris, Windows Server2008&2016, and Windows7/10 desktops. Experience with Nagios, Active Directory, and NetBackup. Experience with authentication and account management (Active Directory, DNS, LDAP, TACACS, Local, KVM). Experience with virtualization platforms (VMWare ESXi, vCenter). Experience with Storage Area Networks (EMC, NAS/DAS). Hardware experience: servers, workstations, peripherals, and tape robots. Database experience with Oracle and SQL Server. Nice to Have Prior real‑time operations/mission systems experience. RedHat certification. Automation concepts (e.g., Puppet). Experience with Splunk, WebLogic, high‑speed guards, and F5 load balancers. Familiarity with Cisco switches and firewalls. Experience with SQL database queries and troubleshooting. Tape library and backup experience (Symantec NetBackup). Scripting and coding experience (Bash, PowerShell, Python). What You’ll Need to Succeed Education: Technical training, certifications, degree, or equivalent combination. Required experience: 1+ years. Security clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph.
