Mississippi State University is hiring a Desktop Support Specialist. The role involves delivering Tier 1 technical support to library faculty and staff, maintaining IT systems, managing inventory, and supervising student assistants in several library locations.
Highlights
Provide Tier 1 technical support across the main library and four branch locations
Maintain and support library IT equipment, electronic classrooms, presentation rooms, and the Digital Media Center
Manage desktop computing environment, including imaging and software deployment using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and PDQ
Support library checkout equipment, including laptops
Serve as backup for library servers during Systems Administrator absences
Assist with tracking over 1,000 university-inventoried assets
Supervise student assistants in the Systems department
Requires B.S./B.A. degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
Preferred experience includes Windows and MacOS hardware and software troubleshooting, and Active Directory environment
Strong technical, troubleshooting, and communication skills are essential
