Job Summary Tier 3, Engineer 4 provides senior‑level technical execution and leadership for complex enterprise network activations supporting large, high‑visibility customers. The role independently drives day‑to‑day technical decisions, partners with customers and internal stakeholders, and coordinates cross‑functional teams to deliver successful network implementations. Core Responsibilities Deep hands‑on knowledge of enterprise network architectures and SDN/SDWAN solutions; design, activate, and troubleshoot complex network implementations. Communicate effectively with enterprise customers and internal teams, translating technical details into clear impacts, risks, and recommendations. Coordinate across engineering, service delivery, product, and operations teams to deliver end‑to‑end activation outcomes. Tie ownership of assigned activations and issues from initiation through resolution, proactively identifying and mitigating risks. Exercise independent technical judgment and decision‑making within established frameworks, balancing customer experience and business priorities. Perform root cause analysis on complex issues and recommend targeted improvements to processes, designs, or tooling. Support 24x7 operations, including night and weekend shifts as required. Provide technical training to junior operations and engineering team members. Configure network services in the SDN Service platform (Firewall, NAT/PAT, QoS, DHCP, Traffic Steering, BGP, Static Routes, Wireless Backup, Hybrid WAN, HA, LAN and WAN interfaces). Create Bill of Materials for hardware required for each site and ensure configuration and hardware match customer requirements. Lead technical resource on IP router network technologies and traffic flows during the Service Delivery process. Test and turn up uCPE and Wireless Backup circuits in production; recommend new practices as needed. Execute test plans, log results, gather documentation (installation photos, speed tests), and develop acceptance criteria. Troubleshoot IP networking and security issues following established procedures (packet captures, performance data, security profiles, log files). Interact with customers to resolve service issues, educate on functionality, and manage Change of Service requests. Open and update service tickets in the tracking system and provide accurate information. Collaborate with Customer Project Managers, Development, Strategic Engineering, and vendor teams for in‑depth troubleshooting. Execute Change of Service requests via SDN Service platform and validate functionality afterward. Escalate issues timely, perform deep dives, and analyze systemic problems. Coordinate and implement production patches and software updates for existing applications. Research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements (product designs, test plans, results, manuals). Provide expertise and guidance to junior team members. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (preferred; experience or coursework may be considered). Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JD Edwards, or equivalent) – if applicable. 7–10 years of experience in enterprise networking, SDN/SDWAN, or related technical roles. Expertise in Internet Protocol (IP) routing and switching fundamentals. Proficient troubleshooting skills for routing, performance, connectivity, ACLs, firewall rules, DHCP, DNS, etc. Experience with 24x7 operations and working nights or weekends when required. Strong communication and training abilities. Compensation This role can be performed in Colorado with a pay range of $98,426.32 – $162,403.44.
