Responsibilities Functional Area Support & Optimization – Academic Advising
Optimize and maintain degree‑audit systems, student scheduling platforms, and early‑alert systems. Partner with advising leadership to streamline workflows for academic planning and retention tracking.
Registration & Records: Support the Office of the Registrar by maintaining Student Information System (SIS) functionality for course scheduling, enrollment verification, grading, and transcript processing.
Business Process Analysis & Requirements Gathering
Lead workshops and interviews with stakeholders across the three functional areas to map current (“as‑is”) and design future (“to‑be”) business processes.
Translate complex business needs into detailed technical specifications, user stories, use cases, and system wireframes.
Identify operational bottlenecks and propose technology‑driven solutions to enhance self‑service capabilities for students.
System Administration & Configuration
Perform functional system configurations, including setting up business rules, communication templates, user permissions, and custom fields within core applications.
Coordinate with team members to manage system upgrades, acceptance testing, and data integrations between disparate student‑success applications.
Testing, Training, & Support
Develop comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans and coordinate execution with functional leads prior to system launches or updates.
Create clear, accessible end‑user documentation, training materials, and knowledge‑base articles.
Provide Tier 2/3 functional support, troubleshooting system anomalies and escalating technical bugs to software vendors as necessary.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or functional administrator.
Demonstrated experience working with Higher Education technology ecosystems (e.g., Workday Student, Slate).
Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred
Direct operational experience working within a university Registrar, Advising center, or Career Services office.
Experience with Workday Student.
