Full‑Time Tendure Track Faculty – Cyber Security Kennedy King College Kennedy King College is currently seeking a full‑time faculty member to design and deliver instruction to students enrolled in the Cyber Security Program. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in the classroom by developing and using effective teaching strategies that meet students’ diverse needs and engage them in critical thinking and problem‑solving.
The successful applicant must be willing to work a flexible schedule at multiple sites, work well with students, faculty, and staff at all levels within a diverse, multicultural, collaborative environment, possess an extensive knowledge of cyber security, and be enthusiastic about sharing that knowledge in an engaging manner with all students.
Primary Responsibilities
Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’ intellectual curiosity and helps them problem‑solve using discipline‑specific thinking strategies.
Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and the attainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.
Help students reach their academic, personal, and career goals and foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people and ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidence in every student’s ability to learn.
Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academic and professional communities and promote collaboration and teamwork among members of these communities.
Provide instruction during scheduled class time.
Prepare, deliver, and facilitate class lectures and discussions to students on topics related to course objectives and student learning outcomes.
Prepare course materials, including course syllabi; evaluate student work/performance; log student participation (attendance); and develop assessment instruments to measure student learning and other resources necessary to support classroom instruction.
Compile, administer, and grade examinations; evaluate and grade students’ class work, assignments, and papers.
Hold office hours for student conferences and other instructional support needs.
Participate in various department and/or college‑wide activities or committees.
Complete all mandatory midterm/final grading and required certifications by the college.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering and preferably work experience in the area of Computer Security, Forensics Investigation, and Networking Certification programs.
Experience as an instructor/trainer including planning, scheduling, and delivering cyber security and related training programs and materials.
Excellent troubleshooting skills; self‑motivated, results‑driven, and well‑organized.
Excellent communication skills.
Certifications:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – Preferred
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Preferred
Cisco CyberOps Associate (formerly CCNA CyberOps Associate)
CompTIA Security+
EC Council Certified Ethical Hacker
EC Council Certified Hacking Forensics Investigator
Salary and Benefits
Salary range: $58,000 – $65,000
Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant’s education.

Chicago residency is required for all full‑time employees within six (6) months of hire.
