Business Analyst, Information Systems
Evaluates business processes, identifies needs, and develops strategies to maximize efficiency and opportunity. Serves as liaison among business stakeholders, IT, and third‑party platforms to deliver scalable solutions aligned with institutional priorities. Provides functional support for the student academic journey, spanning recruitment, admissions, enrollment, academic progression, retention, and graduation. Ensures technology solutions enhance the student experience and institutional outcomes. Manages data integrity, delivers training, documents business processes, and maintains advanced knowledge of university system functionality. Analyzes processes and procedures, identifies dependencies, and coordinates change across functional areas and integration points with other systems. Communicates and collaborates professionally with subject‑matter experts and business leaders to secure user acceptance of system configurations. Essential Functions
Work with business stakeholders to identify, plan, and implement innovative technology solutions and process improvements that support student recruitment, retention, and graduation. Provide guidance and hands‑on support of the organization’s application systems and technologies, including troubleshooting issues in production environments. Oversee integration of third‑party and cloud‑based service providers. Support the institution’s technology‑based security compliance efforts. Evaluate and recommend the use or removal of technologies based on organizational circumstances. Facilitate business process decisions based on strategy, cost, ROI, and impact to stakeholders and support functions. Define scope and objectives of business requirements, document use cases, and translate them into system requirement specifications. Lead requirements‑gathering sessions and create process flows and current/future state documentation. Evaluate existing academic and operational flows, develop “as‑is” and “to‑be” process models for re‑engineering initiatives. Plan and manage release and delivery cycles for continuous improvement initiatives. Track and communicate status of improvement initiatives. Maintain and nurture relationships at all organizational levels. Collect and analyze data for potential academic expansion. Identify specific business opportunities. Influence stakeholders to support business projects. Test business processes and recommend improvements. Create documentation and manuals, including UAT testing scripts. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience managing and delivering IT solutions. Strong analytical skills and creative thinking. Ability to evaluate multiple solutions and describe pros and cons. Experience configuring and supporting CRM, LMS, and SIS systems. Detail‑oriented. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Decision framing based on key organizational metrics such as business impact and ROI. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical items in a clear manner to non‑technical personnel. Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements. Demonstrated leadership within technical and non‑technical settings. Effective communication with individuals at all levels. Experience acting as liaison between academic stakeholders and IT staff. Experience within the systems development lifecycle. Strong project management skills. Desire to work as part of a team. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adjust priorities. Desire for continual professional growth and self‑motivation. Ability to set and meet aggressive deadlines, and respond to planned and ad‑hoc requests. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. Experience with higher education preferred. Experience with CRM system Salesforce required. Experience as a business analyst, consultant, and/or project manager with an IT background preferred. 2+ years’ experience delivering enterprise information technology solutions. Operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment. Requires good concentration. Mobility within the office across floors. Ability to cope with stressful situations. Strong mental acuity. Hours and Travel
Flexible hours are required to implement strategy and deliverables. Must be flexible to work early, late, or during non‑work hours as needed. May require some international travel for enterprise initiatives and team collaboration. The anticipated salary range for the Business Analyst, Information Systems is $86,000 - $95,000 per year. The final salary offered may vary and will be determined based on factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, location, and education of the successful candidate.
