Transform technology into opportunity as a licensed Systems Administrator with GDIT. This role supports an intelligence customer in Key West, FL, connecting and enhancing critical systems. Responsibilities
Systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to LAN and WAN. Desktop system management: account monitoring, security, OS installation, and related local-area system administration functions. Support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure. Day‑to‑day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, and other equipment. Identify, diagnose, and resolve Tier 1, 2, and 3 problems. Escalate and communicate status to agency management and internal customers. Install PC hardware, server hardware, and network connections. Install and load operating system and application software using PowerShell, PDQ, or MECM/SCCM. Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving applications, operating systems, hardware, communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof. Maintain integrity and configure network components, implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance. Perform software installations and upgrades to Windows operating systems and layered software packages, following established policies, procedures, licensing, and service level agreements; evaluate and install software/hardware patches, resolving related problems. Create and follow procedures to maintain multiple linked databases, ensuring security, data safety, integrity, disaster recovery, and bulk data import/export. Conduct routine and emergency maintenance of assigned data center or end‑user equipment. Communicate and coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance windows with impacted customers. Collaborate on development, administration, and testing of backup and recovery plans. Ensure systems secure to STIG guidelines, review ACAS scans, and work with ISSOs to mitigate findings. Maintain operational, configuration, and other standard operating procedures (SOPs); document tickets and issues clearly. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire. TS/SCI clearance required and eligibility to obtain CI Poly. Must obtain System Administrator accounts and access within 90 days of hire. RHEL, Windows, and/or Storage administration experience. Experience with trouble ticket reporting and tracking systems such as Service+. Ability to provide after‑hour on‑call support. Ability to travel 0–20% to local sites and other similar locations. Strong documentation skills and proficiency with MS Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word). Strong customer support and communication skills. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment. Physical ability to lift, move, and carry equipment up to 65 pounds. Maintain a valid U.S. passport. Desired: experience in imagery intelligence; scripting on Windows and Linux; familiarity with customer processes and production systems; skills in Windows Desktop OS, Windows Server, PowerShell, Red Hat, SQL, imagery production chain; general database administration, network administration, and network configuration management.
