Responsibilities Under limited supervision, performs one or more of the following activities on the company's internal networks: configuration management, system administration, security administration, network administration, development system implementation, production system implementation. Responds to issues related to environment, hardware, system, and/or software and implements resolution across technology areas. Supports multiple systems simultaneously and provides leadership for large project efforts. Provides support or lead activities related to change management, outage management and/or project management.
Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in IT‑related engineering, computer science or information systems or related field plus 5 years of work experience in engineering or information technology environment. A Master’s degree in IT‑related engineering, computer science or information systems or related field plus 3 years of work experience in engineering or information technology environment is also acceptable, in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience.
Experience with network administration and architecture; in-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, EIGRP); knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g. Python, Perl); design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN); configure and install routers, switches and other network devices; experience with access control models and network security; experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools; experience with network operating systems (Cisco IOS, IOS‑XE).
Advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
Position is hybrid in Plano, TX; candidates must live within a 50‑mile radius and be willing to work at a FedEx office location several times per week.
