What you’ll do Design and deliver technical solutions in support of quality assurance standards for CarGurus software applications. Duties include defining, developing, and implementing test strategies and test cases across CarGurus enterprise applications; performing a wide range of testing such as E2E, functional, exploratory, regression, smoke, black‑box, and data to ensure that implemented features are free of bugs, reliable system integration and business processes are not broken; analyzing business requirements and implementing specifications and test cases; writing, building, and reviewing automation test UI scripts for E2E testing; collaborating with other QA engineers and other teams to help plan and test new and existing features; designing, implementing, improving and optimizing automation framework; engaging software developers in design, coding, reviewing, and testing of enterprise software; designing and implementing load and performance testing, and performing root cause analyses; building test automation framework to develop, maintain and implement efficient test automation approach for full coverage; collaborating with development engineers to improve testing and the quality of our code; working in an agile software development environment, providing QA expertise and guidance, and driving consistent quality assurance strategies across multiple agile teams; analyzing and reporting QA performance measurements including defect density, defect leakage, and QA efficiency; developing and refining test automation frameworks, and evaluating strategies and opportunities for test case automation; promoting proper implementation of techniques and principles for planning and estimation; evaluating and recommending tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality software and hardware product platforms; test case development and execution activities; ensuring test approach, test data, and execution results meet the project objectives; and performing end‑to‑end test activities and artifacts for the projects in test. Who You Are Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Sciences, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive experience in the job offered or related occupation. Requires five (5) years of experience in each of the following: Quality Assurance working with cloud‑based CRM/ERP technologies or enterprise applications stack, such as Salesforce; Automation with Java; Writing and building E2E automated scripts across integrated enterprise applications, using Selenium for cloud and web applications or another open‑source automation framework; Service layer testing; REST APIs, and UI automation; Atlassian tools, such as JIRA and Confluence; Programming with C# and Java; SDLC and Agile; Frameworks, Cypress, or Playright; SQL; CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub actions, or similar tools; Docker and Git; and Application functions, bug fixing, and testing protocols.
Salary & Benefits Position Pay Range: $140,525 — $175,000 USD. The displayed range is the expected annual base salary. On‑Target Earnings (OTE) is inclusive of base salary and commission earnings, which applies exclusively to sales roles. Individual pay within this range is determined by work location and other factors such as job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This annual base salary forms part of a comprehensive Total Rewards Package. In addition to benefits, this role may qualify for discretionary bonuses/incentives and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
