Software Design Release Engineer (DRE) is a leadership role focused on development and launch of embedded controller products. The DRE will manage product plans, ensure on‑time delivery of embedded controller and sub‑components, and lead cross‑functional teams. Key Responsibilities Contribute ideas to improve culture and processes for program management, product engineering, and vehicle manufacturing. Create and implement product development and release plans aligned to engineering standards, ensuring high‑quality and on‑time delivery. Manage part number proliferation for embedded controllers (end model part numbers, software, calibration). Track and report status of work, escalating issues and driving risk mitigation. Lead product issue investigations, continuous process improvements, standard methodologies, lessons learned, and quality improvements. Support standard meetings (e.g., Software Execution Team Meetings, agile ceremonies). Provide technical leadership, issue resolution, and technical direction for assigned products. Train, coach, and mentor team members. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. Minimum 5 years of combined experience in at least three embedded controls areas (hardware design, sensor/actuator design, algorithm design, software development, calibration, integration, testing/validation, architecture design, FMEA, DRE). Solid foundations in project‑management, problem‑solving, analytical skills, teamwork, critical thinking, and meeting leadership. Proven experience in Root Cause Analysis. Understanding of HIL bench testing. Preferred Skills Master’s degree in engineering or computer science. 5+ years automotive experience. Knowledge of AUTOSAR software constructs and implementation. Experience with diagnostic parameters (DIDs, RIDs, DTCs). Experience with Agile product development. Experience in program and project management. Knowledge of Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP). Experience on cross‑functional initiatives. Experience with software, hardware, and calibration integration. Experience leading diverse, global teams with focus on change management. Familiarity with Generative AI. Design Release and/or Calibration experience. Additional Information No immigration sponsorship is provided. The role is hybrid; selected candidate will be expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times per week (or as directed by manager). The hybrid role is not eligible for relocation benefits; relocation costs are applicant’s responsibility.
