Department: Commercial / Sales Reports To: Sales Director Location: Cincinnati, OH (Remote/Hybrid Travel Position) FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to grow revenue, profitability, and market share across Emery Oleochemicals' portfolio of specialty chemical products, including Fatty Acids, Ozone products, Specialty Esters, and Solvents. This position manages key customer relationships, develops new business opportunities, and serves as the primary commercial contact within an assigned territory. The Regional Sales Manager partners closely with Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Technical Service, Regulatory Affairs, and Customer Service to deliver customer solutions and support Emery's strategic growth initiatives. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Growth Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve annual revenue and profitability targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target industries and applications. Expand Emery's market presence across Fatty Acids, Specialty Esters, Ozone products, and Solvent product lines. Develop strategic account plans for key customers and high-growth opportunities. Conduct regular customer visits and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and technical contacts. Customer Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers. Understand customer requirements and identify opportunities for additional product sales. Coordinate customer support activities with technical, regulatory, operations, and supply chain teams. Resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and retention. Commercial Management Manage pricing strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining market competitiveness. Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and commercial terms. Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and competitive activity. Develop sales forecasts and pipeline reports. Maintain accurate customer and opportunity data within CRM systems. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Product Management on new product development opportunities. Work closely with Technical Service teams to support customer trials and application development. Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure customer requirements are met. Support Regulatory and Product Stewardship initiatives as needed. Participate in trade shows, industry conferences, and customer events. Target Markets The Regional Sales Manager may support customers in industries including: Personal Care & Cosmetics Industrial Chemicals Lubricants & Metalworking Fluids Agriculture Food & Beverage Plastics & Polymers Coatings & Adhesives Cleaning Products Pharmaceutical & Nutraceutical Applications Specialty Chemical Manufacturing Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Marketing, or related field. Minimum 5 years of industrial B2B sales experience. Minimum 3 years of experience selling chemical, specialty chemical, oleochemical, or industrial products. Demonstrated success achieving revenue growth and sales targets. Experience managing large customer accounts and complex sales cycles. Strong understanding of pricing, margin management, and contract negotiations. Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively. Preferred Qualifications Experience within the oleochemical, specialty chemical, surfactant, fatty acid, ester, or solvent industries. Experience selling into manufacturing, industrial, or chemical processing markets. Technical knowledge of chemical products and applications. CRM experience (Salesforce, Dynamics, or similar platforms). MBA or advanced technical degree. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Strong relationship-building and networking skills. Excellent presentation and communication abilities. Strong negotiation and influencing skills. Ability to analyze markets and identify growth opportunities. Strong financial and business acumen. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems. Travel Requirements Travel up to 50–70% within assigned territory. Overnight travel required. Ability to attend customer meetings, industry conferences, and trade events.
