Notre Dame High School, San Jose is the center for women's leadership in Silicon Valley and has provided an exceptional Catholic college preparatory education for young women since 1851. The Program

The ARISE program at Notre Dame is a partnership between the learning resource specialists, faculty and student participants to provide personalized and differentiated support. The program includes three pillars - Academic Resources, Individualized Support and Empowerment.

Responsibilities

Supervision and Support of Learning Resource Specialists

  • Coordinate intake and approval of new referrals to the ARISE program.
  • Supervise and collaborate with learning resource specialists to implement student accommodations and academic support services.
  • Oversee accommodated testing applications through the College Board and coordinate with the testing coordinator to ensure accommodations are implemented effectively.
  • Evaluate and oversee ARISE support services and programming to ensure effectiveness and alignment with student needs.
  • Oversee ARISE protocols, policies, and procedures related to accommodations and referrals to ensure consistent implementation.

Instructional Coaching and Collaborative Teaching Practices

  • Build teacher capacity by modeling instructional practices aligned with the Notre Dame Teaching Framework.
  • Partner with the instructional coaching team to help teachers implement collaborative instructional practices and models, including co-teaching, to increase student engagement and access to curriculum.
  • Collaborate with teachers across content areas to develop differentiated units that build student skills and expand opportunities for push-in support.
  • Serve as Community Circle mentor

Faculty Professional Development

  • Partner with the Director of Teaching and Learning to identify faculty development needs in instructional practices that support students with disabilities.
  • Design and deliver professional development opportunities in 1:1, small group, and large group settings to build faculty-wide capacity and skills in understanding and supporting diverse student populations.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters in special education; hold a special education credential or similar
  • 8+ years experience in special education related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in K-12 education
  • Experience with school information systems software
  • Bilingual

Terms of Employment:

  • 2026-27 academic year
  • Annual renewable contract
