We are partnering with a well-established, growth-oriented manufacturer in the precision cutting tools space to identify a Regional Sales Manager to lead and expand a high-performing territory in the U.S. This is a strong opportunity for a proven cutting tool salesperson or applications professional ready to step into field sales leadership , as well as for an existing sales manager looking for a platform with significant upside.
This role offers a clear path to advancement, with the opportunity to build and scale a regional sales team , expand market share, and drive revenue growth across a diverse base of CNC machining, metalworking, and manufacturing customers .
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing an established, multi-million-dollar territory with significant growth potential , overseeing both direct sales representatives and manufacturer’s representatives, and driving growth in round tooling (carbide cutting tools and PCD/diamond cutting tools) . The role is heavily focused on round tooling, supporting applications across milling, drilling, and high-performance machining environments. This individual will play a key role in developing people, growing territory revenue, and expanding the sales organization from a small team into a larger, scalable structure.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a regional sales team consisting of direct sales reps and independent manufacturers’ reps
Drive revenue growth across key industries including aerospace, automotive, medical, and general machining
Develop and execute sales strategy, territory planning, and account growth initiatives
Recruit, train, and mentor new sales talent to expand the team from 3 to 6+ representatives over time
Provide technical sales support and collaborate with customers on tooling selection, optimization, and productivity improvements
Work closely with CNC programmers, machinists, and manufacturing engineers to deliver value-added solutions
Analyze performance metrics including sales volume, margin, and market penetration
Strengthen relationships with distributors, end users, and channel partners
Technical & Industry Background: The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience from the shop floor and a deep understanding of machining processes, including:
Experience working in or closely with CNC machine shops, job shops, or production machining environments
Strong knowledge of cutting tools , including solid carbide, indexable tooling, and PCD/diamond tooling
Understanding of feeds and speeds, tooling geometry, carbide grades, coatings, and tool life optimization
Practical experience with tool setup, tool holding, and running machining operations (milling, drilling, turning)
Ability to speak credibly with machinists, programmers, and manufacturing engineers
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Current Regional Sales Manager, Territory Manager, or Senior Sales Engineer in cutting tools, metalworking, or industrial tooling
This could be a great move for a high-performing cutting tool salesperson or applications engineer ready to step into their first leadership role
Demonstrated success in technical sales within CNC machining, tooling, or metal removal
Proven ability or strong potential to hire, coach, and scale a sales team
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to grow territory revenue and build market share
Strong communication skills with both technical and commercial stakeholders
Total W-2 Expected: $140,000 – $150,000+
