Overview We are seeking an experienced,
on-site
IT Manager to lead and execute the operations of our information technology function and support the company’s continued growth. This role is responsible for overseeing all daily IT operations and ensuring systems, infrastructure, and users are fully supported.
Boomer Benefits is a medium-sized, privately held company with a small IT department. This is not a corporate, highly segmented environment.
This is a hands-on role.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge and is willing and able to personally perform the day-to-day IT work, not simply manage vendors or delegate tasks.
This role is well suited for someone seeking a
stable, long-term career
in a financially strong, growing organization. We value consistency, ownership, and long-term investment in our people. The IT Manager will have the opportunity to build trusted relationships across the company while steadily expanding the IT function over time.
Responsibilities
Lead the IT department, supervising technical staff and managing performance, training, and development.
Define and implement IT strategies, policies, and best practices aligned with company goals and compliance requirements.
Oversee the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of core systems, including Microsoft Intune, Office 365, CRM platforms, VOIP, and cloud infrastructure.
Monitor the performance, security, and reliability of all systems and networks; implement solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
Manage IT budgeting, vendor relationships, purchasing, and cost-control efforts for hardware, software, and services.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant data protection and regulatory standards.
Oversee system security, backup, disaster recovery planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and systems to improve operational efficiency and end-user experience.
Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues and guide the resolution process.
Collaborate with leadership and department stakeholders to assess needs and lead technology-related projects across the organization.
Maintain accurate documentation for IT processes, systems, and inventory.
Qualifications
Proven experience leading IT operations and managing teams in a small to medium-sized business environment.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune.
Deep understanding of networking infrastructure, firewalls, VPNs, switches, and routers.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure and AWS), including provisioning, virtual machines, storage, and security settings.
Proficient in managing and automating AWS resources, including EC2 instances, S3 storage, IAM policies, and security groups.
Extensive experience with device imaging and deployment using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Windows Autopilot, or similar tools.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and modern device lifecycle management.
Experience integrating and securing hybrid environments, including on-premises and cloud-based systems.
Ability to automate routine IT tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
Skilled in endpoint configuration and compliance using Microsoft Endpoint Manager for policy enforcement and system standardization.
Expertise in security protocols, endpoint protection tools (EDR, antivirus, encryption), and compliance frameworks.
Familiarity with SQL and reporting for diagnostics and performance monitoring.
Demonstrated ability to lead IT projects involving system migrations, cloud infrastructure optimization, or company-wide software deployments.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines with a proactive approach.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Maintains confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive experience in IT, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Solutions Architect, or similar preferred.
