Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and operate network services and systems, including hardware, software, and virtual environments.
Design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain networks and network components supporting data, voice, and audio communication activities.
Prepare analysis of short‑ and long‑term capacity needs for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling.
Conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies, and internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis; evaluate new technologies.
Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; advise on hardware and software selection and tools for efficient solutions; conduct testing of network systems.
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection, including routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance network capabilities.
Implement operational design standards and establish appropriate interfaces to meet interoperability and mission requirements; design, recommend, and execute configuration of all network and communication equipment and services to ensure highest security and efficient data flow.
Determine specifications for and manage cost analysis, purchase, testing, installation, support, and quality assurance reviews of network communications, including LAN/MAN/WAN systems and platforms.
Monitor overall network performance and analyze and implement process models to enable operational impact and efficiencies for network optimization; analyze network traffic and provide capacity‑planning solutions.
Plan and oversee execution of network installations of system hardware and software upgrades; plan and execute backups and recovery operations.
Direct or execute compilation and maintenance of network records and documentation of configuration, development, and maintenance schedules, policies, and procedures.
Provide guidance and status updates regarding issues that could impact services.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience working with, or 9 years of Cisco ISE implementations.
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain Public Trust or Active Public Trust clearance.
Washington, DC onsite – 5 days a week.
