Full-time position at Renaissance Daytona Beach Oceanfront Hotel. Seeking a Sales Manager experienced in selling Marriott branded hotels.
Basic Purpose Provide direct sales efforts for the hotel, resulting in bookings. Book groups and transient business.
Essential Functions Responsible for meeting and exceeding top line revenue goals at the hotel and growing RevPAR to the competitive set as noted in Smith Travel Reports.
Skilled in building rapport, qualifying, presenting, negotiating and closing business, as well as servicing accounts.
Proficient in the use of brand reports, Travel Click Reports, etc.
Ensure all sales call documentation is recorded in the sales automation system on property.
Implement company programs (PRM/Franchiser) and manage the sales and marketing efforts of the property in a manner consistent with our policies and procedures; prepare, analyze and review rooms revenue reporting.
Maximize brand relationships by working with various staffing personnel (national account managers, group desk, regional support) to gain market share, build customer relations, and gain exposure in marketplaces. Use and update all brand tools (RFP qualifiers, web tools, packaging, reports, etc.) and complete all required brand training.
Non-Essential Functions
Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in task force and committees as required.
Conduct property tours.
Inventory sales collateral.
Participate in the hotel’s Quality Program.
Ensure appropriate, professional dress code and behavior are in place at all times, including meetings and events held off‑property (5% time).
Knowledge and Skills Education: Four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience.
Experience: Three years within the hotel sales discipline.
Skills and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing/hospitality profession. Includes experiential knowledge required for management of people, complex problems, and efficient sales activities. Decisions within the standards of the position may impact more than one department, but usually not more than one hotel. Must possess highly developed communication skills to frequently present, negotiate, convince, sell and influence managerial personnel, hotel guests, and corporate clients.

Travel required: Local travel on a weekly basis. National and international travel may be required a minimum of four to five times a year.
