The University of Maine System is seeking an
Applications Administrator . The Applications Administrator is responsible for working with the Director of Campus Card and Cellular Services to lead and oversee all technical operations of the University of Maine System (UMS) Card & Cellular Services department. Responsibilities include computing resources, application development, network infrastructure, software, system, and database administration, and technical project management. This role is also responsible for developing, defining, supporting, and implementing technical strategies and systems, and for collaborating with vendors, UMS staff, and UMS IT to ensure a seamless, statewide card services solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead upgrades, configuration, and maintenance of system software and hardware Develop reports, scripts, and applications to support operational and data needs Manage and support databases, servers, and system infrastructure Lead technical projects and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors Maintain systems such as access control, video surveillance, ID card systems, and e-commerce platforms Ensure system security, data integrity, backups, and compliance Provide training, documentation, and technical guidance to stakeholders Deliver technical support across multiple UMS locations, including occasional after‑hours support Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in computer related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience Three to five years of relevant professional experience Experience in administering computer systems in a multi‑platform environment Experience in system development, system administration, and project coordination Experience managing network servers (e.g., Windows NT Server, MS Internet Information Server, UNIX) Experience with database administration (Oracle, SQL), network administration (LAN, WAN), and patch management Developed technical understanding of software and hardware systems Expansive application knowledge of MS Office, SQL Developer, SQL Management Studio, Visual Studio, and MS Access Knowledge of system security, data backup and recovery, and the ability to resolve system vulnerabilities Ability to develop scripts and software in CIC++ , Java, Visual Basic, or other languages Strong analytical and documentation skills Detail‑oriented and process‑driven Staff leadership, customer services, and project management skills Preferred Technical certifications or equivalent professional knowledge and experience Knowledge of application software, including IDWorks, CCure, Odessy (CBORD), Transact, Exacqvision, Video Insight, Papercut, Best Stanley, ICM as well as other card and security related software Professional, process‑oriented self‑starter, capable of performing analytical task with strong documentation skills Salary:
The salary range for this position is $53,000 to $58,000, commensurate with the candidate's training, education, and experience. Benefits:
