Provide IT systems administration support in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment. Apply foundational experience of Windows Server or Linux systems, including core services such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and basic server roles. Work as part of a collaborative team in a fast‑paced environment. Use established troubleshooting techniques to resolve moderate to complex technical issues involving operating systems, hardware integration, and enterprise services. Support data storage and backup operations, including RAID concepts and backup/restore technologies. Install, configure, and support software applications requested by end users. Partner with Cybersecurity teams to maintain system security requirements, follow established processes, and assist with documentation and training for IT procedures. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as operational needs evolve. Must be able to obtain DoDD 8140 / 8570 certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start. Systems operate 24x7 and may require occasional work outside standard business hours. Qualifications
Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and at least 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field. Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required. Experience working with Windows and/or Linux operating systems. Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Active Directory WSUS, VMware, MECM, Exchange, system administration, network administration, Windows or Linux server support, and enterprise backup/recovery tools. Preferred Qualifications
DoD 8140 / 8570 certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent), including OS‑specific certifications. Experience supporting compliance activities such as NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, or DoD/RMF. Experience with Windows Server administration. Experience with data storage technologies, including NAS and SAN solutions. Experience working within an IT project lifecycle or structured process environment. Experience with VMware products such as vCenter, vSphere, and ESXi or other virtualization platforms. Experience supporting engineering teams working on software, simulation, or hardware development. Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, Skype, SharePoint, and/or Exchange. Exposure to High Performance Computing (HPC) environments. Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or similar). Benefits
The salary range for this role is $68,900 - $131,100 USD.
