The Cloud Solutions Team within Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an experienced DevOps Developer to support our application modernization efforts. This role will contribute to the migration of BDS applications to cloud platforms by building automation, enabling cloud deployment pipelines, and supporting secure and repeatable operational patterns. Responsibilities
Work closely with product owners, technical integrators, architects, and cross‑functional teams in agile environments to deliver cloud migration user stories and technical tasks. Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to support cloud migration across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or equivalent for multi‑cloud provisioning and management. Develop and maintain automation scripts, tooling, and reusable patterns to streamline migration and operational tasks across cloud environments. Leverage cloud services and container orchestration platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, EKS, AKS, and GKE to build scalable, secure, and highly available environments. Collaborate with architecture, data engineering, and platform teams to support multi‑cloud deployments and integration with enterprise platforms. Apply a security‑first approach to solution design, infrastructure, documentation, and cloud service support; ensure compliance with security policies, architecture standards, and operational best practices across cloud platforms. Monitor system performance, availability, and security using cloud‑native monitoring tools and implement automated remediation where appropriate. Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and 3rd‑level escalation support for server, network, and cloud platform issues. Create and maintain software design documentation, DevOps process documentation, and best practices to support onboarding and knowledge sharing. Proactively identify technical debt, participate in continuous improvement efforts, and support architecture implementation throughout the system development lifecycle. Work effectively across multiple products, locations, teams, time zones, and external partners. Basic Qualifications
5+ years experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, software engineering, or cloud engineering. 5+ years experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or ARM templates. 5+ years experience with GitLab, Azure DevOps and CI/CD. 5+ years experience with scripting skills in Python, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, or Node.js. Experience with cloud‑platform technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience with monitoring, logging, and incident response tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Splunk. Experience with high‑availability, resilient service configurations, and cloud security best practices. Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, DevOps, or infrastructure automation tools. Experience working in multi‑cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP. Experience managing containerized workloads on Kubernetes platforms such as Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, or Google GKE. Experience implementing automated security and compliance controls in DevOps pipelines. Familiarity with AI/ML deployment pipelines and MLOps practices. Experience with system administration, Linux, Windows, and associated tooling such as Maven, Unix tools, Confluence, ADO, and JIRA. Experience with Agile and Lean methodologies. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills in cross‑functional teams. Conflict of Interest: Successful candidates must satisfy the company’s COI assessment process.
