What we're looking for Data Analytics Specialist
Where we need you:
Ohio EPA wants you to serve this role in the Division of Environmental Response and Revitalization (DERR) at our Central District Office in downtown Columbus, Ohio.
Why this is important:
This position is key to the agency’s ability to make data‑driven decisions that protect Ohio’s environment and support community revitalization efforts. As a data analytics specialist, you’ll act as lead in extracting and managing critical information within DERR’s databases and serve as point of contact for data and information retrievals.
We need your expert skills to extract and combine data from multiple sources and use SQL to create useful, actionable reports that help the division understand and track its work. You’ll apply analysis and visualization techniques to convert raw data into insightful information for dashboards, reports, and other business intelligence tools that support program objectives.
You’ll also play a key role in supporting staff across the division by providing software training, maintaining documentation, and developing updated training materials to ensure teams can use information systems effectively.

Manage information within DERR’s Reclaims and related databases.
Extract and combine data from multiple sources and systems.
Build dashboards and business intelligence tools that support division objectives.
Provide support and software training to staff.

Qualifications:
48 months experience in data analytics or statistical analysis or research methods.
OR completion of associate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; AND 30 months experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
OR completion of undergraduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; AND 24 months experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
OR completion of graduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; AND 12 months experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
OR 36 months experience as a Data Analytics Associate, 66930.
OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
