Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for structuring various IT projects, performing the detailed planning, and managing project execution and completion of moderate to large type projects. Defines the phase deliverables, tracks milestones and incurred expenses versus planned expenses, schedules roles and resources, test, training and implementation plans, evaluates risks and recommends contingency plans. Assigns resources and tasks, and manages quality assurance, resolution of issues, status reviews and reporting, and compliance with all policies and procedures and support artifacts. Generally leads a group of technical resources and other IT technical staff and where necessary, collaborate with the business domain and business subject matter experts, relying on experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Manage Change: Manages changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques to keep the project plan accurate, updated, and reflective of authorized project changes as defined in the change management plan; facilitates client acceptance of the scope change. Coordinates the assessment of the impact that the change will have on people, processes, and systems and develops and adapts these areas to support the change. Understands the implications of changes internally and externally to the project and acts to ensure that it is aligned with these changes.
  • Risk Management: Documents risks, assumptions, and constraints using historical data and expert judgment in order to understand project limitations. Implements actions required to avoid or mitigate project risk events to minimize the impact of the risks on the project. Anticipates and manages risks associated with change through appropriate contingency planning.
  • Monitor and Control Project Work: Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders. Adjusts schedules to accommodate changing requirements within established deadlines. Forecasts and tracks costs and revenue to meet project objectives and effectively utilize resources. Demonstrates creativity when developing solutions considering the long-term impact. Handles multiple priorities by effectively prioritizing based on importance and impact. Manages all aspects to ensure smooth operational hand-over on completion of the project.
  • Communications: Ensures a common understanding by setting expectations using the Project Plan to align the stakeholders and team members and to ensure team buy-in. Selects the most effective type and medium for communicating message, communicating in person wherever possible. Communicates a sense of urgency when dealing with client issues. Is able to clearly articulate the connection between the client's business issues and appropriate technology solutions. Actively manages ongoing stakeholder expectations and ensures they are consistent with deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Uses strong project management skills and delivery methodologies to lead the delivery of project within planned timelines, budget, margins and quality specifications.
  • Manages the development and integration of project. Consistently delivers high value, "client ready" work, including communications and presentations, with minimal supervision.
  • Writes accurate and effective statements of work so that all project team members understand the project expectations and roles.
  • Proactively reports project risk and deliverable issues to superiors for assistance as soon as possible.
  • Establishes and manages the project plan (development, delivery schedule, resource requirements, 3rd parties, cost budget methodology, tools, standards and quality).
  • Uses appropriate methodologies (such as risk mitigation/management, change/control management and contract management) to manage major projects or a group of projects.
  • Applies business process redesign and/or information planning methodologies to client business problems. Combines knowledge of business process redesign and/or information planning methodologies with a deep knowledge of their domain and/or solution to sell, design and deliver a full range of solutions.
  • Leads or supports the implementation of change management, business process redesign or information planning.
  • Communicates deliverables, conducts client meetings, obtains required client sign off and specifications and client acceptance.
  • Manages the performance of internal and external service providers in order to ensure the implementation of deliverables and resulting client satisfaction. Interfaces with sub-contractors.
  • Communicates a sense of urgency when dealing with client issues. Is able to clearly articulate the connection between the client's business issues and appropriate technology solutions.
  • Actively manages ongoing stakeholder expectations and ensures they are consistent with deliverables.
  • Manages project work teams and the development and integration of project deliverables.
  • Sets objectives and priorities, assigns and reviews tasks, performance and staffing requirements.
  • Staffs projects and maintains the resource plan.
  • Provides mentoring, development and performance feedback to team members.

Skills Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience managing various types of IT projects.
  • 5-10 years of experience managing IT tools integration projects
  • Mandatory experience managing projects that move of data and applications to Cloud (Amazon Web Services (AWS) and / or Microsoft Azure).
  • Demonstrated experience within the IT project management lifecycle including requirements analysis, service offering design, user interface design, system integration, change management, configuration management, testing, training development, documentation design, and service implementation
  • Strong understanding of service offering concepts including Key Performance Indicators, Service Levels, Problem Reports, Change Requests, New Feature Requests, Automated Testing, and Contacts
  • BS / BA degree or related experience
  • PMP Certification desired
  • 5+ years of experience with MS Project
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, Applications and Data Center Services
  • Strong project financial management / cost management experience
  • Successful track record of client relationship management
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be very flexible and versatile, capable of wearing multiple hats (Hands on, PM, BA) and driving concurrent tasks to completion
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented, able to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to work under minimum supervision
