Responsible and Accountable for
Develops and maintains action-based reporting and dashboards using Power BI and coding in SQL, writing and optimizing SQL queries delivering monthly metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineering, Application Technology, and business line managers, to support data-driven initiatives and ensure the accuracy and validity of data.
Supports business initiatives by providing analytical insights, makes recommendations and clearly communicates findings through custom-coded SQL queries, Power BI visuals, and DAX expressions.
Works closely with various teams on projects to obtain necessary data, and track performance.
Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that align with the organization’s goals and objectives, leveraging DAX measures and SQL code where appropriate.
Gather, clean, and integrate data from multiple sources (data warehouse, spreadsheets, etc.) to create centralized, accurate, and accessible reporting.
Transform strategic and operational inquiries into actionable analytics requirements, extract and analyze data using SQL, and present insights in a clear, compelling narrative to inform decision‑making and drive action.
Personally develop and maintain advanced performance reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI, incorporating drill‑through features, bookmarks, tooltips, and parameterized filters.
Develop and code SQL queries and DAX expressions to create custom reports aligned with the specific needs of our various business lines.
Participate in thorough SQL code review to ensure best practices, optimize query performance, and maintain data integrity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Skilled in writing, optimizing, and validating complex queries using SQL (joins, aggregations, temp tables, data transformation, data integration, debugging, etc.).
Skilled in using Power BI to visually present data stories with actionable insights, including expertise in data modeling, dashboard design, and DAX formula creation.
Demonstrates strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Must be detail oriented and possess good analytical and organizational skills.
Self‑starter who is able to be hands‑on and can analyze, interpret and derive insights into business reports, analytic models, and data sources.
Ability to multi‑task and be detail orientated in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to be self‑directed, work independently, and demonstrate strong initiative.
Analytic and problem‑solving skills with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Strong communication skills with proven ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non‑analytical audiences.
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience in Business Analytics. Master’s in related field or related certifications encouraged.
Experience: Skilled with querying data using SQL; able to independently access, retrieve, organize and analyze data; able to perform peer SQL code review to ensure accuracy.
Skilled with data visualization tools. Power BI (Tableau) experience preferred, but similar systems with transferable skillsets are acceptable.
